Antone Cardoza, Jr., 93, of Hilo, died Dec. 11, 2018, at his residence. Born on June 9, 1925, in Oahu, he was a retired welder for a Pineapple Processing Company on Oahu.

Mrs. Pamela Sue Coate, 67, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 10, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Piqua, Ohio on Oct. 11, 1951, she was an office manager for Rudy Inc. in Covington, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Coate of Kailua-Kona; son, Jack Andrew Coate of Ning Bo, China; daughter, J. Amanda (Jeremy) Saunders of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; two granddaughters; two brothers and a sister.

Ashely Friend
Ashely “A.J.” Jan Friend, 52, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 9, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Portland, Ore., on May 31, 1966, he was a charter boat captain and did upholstery in the last few years.
No services will be held.
He is survived by his son, J.P. Friend of Salem, Ore.; companion, Denise Freeman of Kailua-Kona; parents, John and Neoma Friend of Prineville, Ore.; sister, Johna (Jack) Young of Prineville, Ore.; brother, John (Candus) Friend of Ephrata, Wash.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Aquilino Corpuz
Aquilino C. Corpuz, 88, of Keaau, died Nov. 17, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born on May 17, 1930, in Laoag City, Philippines, he was a retired macadamia nut and coffee picker.
Friends may call 5-6 p.m. Dec. 19 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for 6 p.m. wake service. An all-night vigil to follow after 9 p.m. at the family residence, 16-1508 Orchidland Drive (35th Ave) in Keaau. Friends may call again 9-10:30 a.m. Dec. 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire; flowers are welcomed, burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section.
He is survived by daughters, Fellie C. (Danny) Albano, Elsa C. Oriarte and Evelyn C. (Jose) Ramelb of Keaau; son, Orlando (Elda) Corpuz of Keaau; sister, Esmenia C. (Rufino) Agpaoa of Philippines; two sisters-in-law; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law; two hanai children; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tsutomu Omori
Tsutomu “Tom” Omori, 93, of Papaikou died Nov. 20, 2018, at his residence. Born in Onomea, he was a retired sugar cane truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and a member of the Papaikou Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and ILWU.

He is survived by wife, Sueko Omori of Papaikou; sons, Terence (Bridget) Omori of Mililani, Curtis Omori of Papaikou; daughter, Jan (Hugh) Kaneko of Holualoa; sister, Sachiko Matsuzaki of Papaikou; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

John Robel, Jr.
John H Robel, Jr., 92, of Hawi, died Dec. 8, 2018, at his residence. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he was a retired electrician, a former businessman, owner of Robel Electric, co-owner of Johnny’s and The Stockage, member of IBEW Local 265 and the BPOE Lodge 80 in Lincoln, Neb.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to North Hawaii Hospice, 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743.
He is survived by wife, Mary Jo Robel of Hawi; son, David Robel of Nebraska; daughters, Terry (Jerry) Williams, Denise (Bill) Blesso all of Hawi; two grandsons, a great-grandson, nieces and nephews.
